Description
With the “Multi” Hay Rack, no. 581, you don’t just get a corner hay rack, but also a holder for the OK triangular pellet trough no. 108 – click for more information. This transforms the triangular trough into a portable manger, making it easy to clean and suitable for “crib-biters”.
The hay rack is lower than standard models on the market and therefore also well-suited for smaller horses.
With Hay Rack no. 581, the hay is kept under control so the horses do not scatter it throughout the stall. This minimizes waste and allows you to monitor exactly how much the horse eats. Furthermore, the forage saved is not trampled into the bedding, which means less manure to transport to the muck heap.
The hay rack can be used for hay and straw, and is mounted in a corner. The capacity is 115 liters, which corresponds to 4–7 kg of hay depending on how tightly it is packed.
The front of the hay rack features 22 round holes as well as openings on each side. These holes and openings serve to ventilate the hay and filter out dirt and dust. Additionally, the openings ensure improved hygiene, as feed residue does not accumulate but instead falls to the floor.
From the stable aisle, the holes allow you to monitor how quickly the horse eats and see when the manger is empty.
The design and placement of the hay rack facilitate an excellent eating posture, meeting the requirement that horses should eat in their natural position. This also applies to the triangular trough no. 108 if used in conjunction with the hay rack.
The opening at the bottom of the hay rack makes it easy to reach underneath with, for example, a broom for cleaning. To facilitate cleaning, it is best mounted at a height that allows for sweeping underneath.
